For over 20 years, the Leadership Intensive has been the premier summer training opportunity for California charter school leaders.
Each year, our team assembles a deeply experienced and knowledgeable team of instructors. The teaching team not only includes CSDC staff but invited guest experts, such as university professors, authorizing agency staff, attorneys, CPAs, and veteran charter school leaders.

Joyce Montgomery is the former Chief Financial Officer at Summit Public Schools and was previously the Charter School Finance and Policy Specialist at CSDC. Prior to her work at both, Joyce spent over eleven years as the Chief Financial Officer at Leadership Public Schools. MORE

Jennifer McQuarrie specializes in charter school representation and employment litigation and has been practicing law for over 20 years. She engages with CSDC as an advisor and guest instructor on charter school policy and legal matters and leads the development and delivery of several legal workshops at CSDC’s Leadership Intensive, CBO Training program, and CSDC’s annual Conference. Susanne has worked in K-12 education for over 20 years and has served as a start-up charter school governing board member for nine years. Susanne develops and delivers CSDC’s trainings in the areas of school accountability and development. MORE
Candice Lamarche
Charter School Operations Specialist

Candice has worked in the charter sector since 2004 and began her career as a founding team member at the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA). Candice works closely with CSDC’s Executive Director, Eric Premack, to strengthen CSDC’s resources and trainings, including the CBO Training program, annual conference, and other in-person and online events.
