New Sample Policy: Identification and Education Under Section 504

A new policy is now available to CSDC Member Schools: Identification and Education Under Section 504

A part of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 504 prevents discrimination against students with disabilities and refers to the methods and strategies designed by teachers, parents, and administrators to comply with this law. While Section 504 does not mandate that boards of charter schools adopt a policy regarding Section 504, CSDC offers this sample as a starting point for schools that believe it is a good practice.

This sample policy is one of dozens of policies included as a part of CSDC's Sample Charter School Governing Board Policies, a repository of the policies California charter schools are required (or suggested) to have adopted. Access to the collection is one of the benefits of CSDC Membership
