Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D—Long Beach) recently amended AB 1316, a bill that would impose a vast and devastating array of new restrictions and costs on California’s charter schools. The 88-page bill contains a huge number of problematic provisions that would negatively impact all charter schools. While some of the worst are targeted at nonclassroom-based schools, all charter schools would be seriously negatively impacted. Not surprisingly, even the bill author’s hometown newspaper denounced his anti-charter bill.
Please help CSDC and the charter school community oppose AB 1316 which is currently in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
