Charter Currents: Newsom Administration Surfaces Details of $4.6 Billion Expanded Learning Time and Academic Intervention Grants

The Department of Finance today released detailed draft legislation to implement Governor Newsom’s proposed $4.6 billion grant program to provide additional academic and other supports to students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Newsom’s original budget proposal released on January 8, 2021 offered only a bare-bones summary while the legislation released today fills in most of the details.
