Description
Dashboard Alternative Status Schools (DASS) face unique challenges in charter renewal. Open-ended charter renewal provisions indicate the use of alternative metrics but otherwise provide little structure. Achieving shared understanding with the authorizer about the school’s program—including likely misalignment with California School Dashboard metrics—can be critical. This webinar will discuss evidence to demonstrate program impact and strategies for building shared understanding with the authorizer. Presenters will review pros and cons of various alternative metrics and discuss trends they have seen in the first round of AB 1505 charter renewals after a four-year pause.
