Jesse Leyva is an educational consultant specializing in compliance, operations, National School Lunch Program (NSLP), curriculum program development, Career Technical Education, English Language Learner (ELL) support, school leader coaching, school equity & culture, new school development, international exchange programs, program articulation, renewable energy, school safety, and more. Jesse is also a board member for Charter Schools Development Center.
Prior to his work in educational consulting, Mr. Leyva worked in the Goleta School District as a State Pre-School Director, K-6 Principal and District Office Administrator for English Language Learners and State and Federal Programs. He also served as the principal of Solvang School, a K-8 Single School District, Director at Olive Grove K-12 Independent Study Charter School, Compliance & Operations Director for Kaplan Virtual Education California Charter Schools & Virtual High School Director.
Jesse also taught kindergarten through high school, graduate courses in linguistics and education at Loyola Marymount University, UC Santa Barbara, and the UC Irvine International. Jesse holds a Master’s Degree in Linguistics, a BCLAD teaching credential & administrative credential.
When Jesse’s not working, he’s training for triathlons, a sport he took up 35 years ago. Jesse has qualified and competed in the Hawaii Ironman on 2 occasions, and more recently has taken an interest in Ultra Marathons.
