What Does a Typical Week Look Like?

The final application deadline for CSDC’s 2022 Leadership Intensive closes in one week: Friday, May 6, 2022.

For over 20 years, the Leadership Intensive has been the premier summer training opportunity for California charter school leaders. The program provides comprehensive training on essential charter topics and is designed to accommodate both new and experienced school leaders alike.

Devoting an entire workweek to professional learning can be a big commitment.  If you are curious what a typical week at the Leadership Intensive looks like, we’ve released a sample schedule for download.

The 2022 schedule will follow a similar format, with in-depth presentations on:

  • the history and context of charter schools
  • charter school leadership and ethics
  • team building and leadership
  • charter school finance
  • governance and the Ralph M. Brown Act
  • personnel and labor relations
  • accountability, data, and renewal
  • authorizer relations and district impact
  • self-care in leadership

In addition to these sessions, participants will have plenty of optional opportunities to connect with fellow charter school leaders, including:

  • an evening welcome reception on the first day of the event
  • daily morning discussion group activities over coffee and tea
  • daily group lunches
  • two special on-site dinners
  • a movie night under the stars

All of these opportunities are included in the price of tuition. But if you need an evening away (or wish to extend your stay for the weekend), the Murieta Inn & Spa will have something for you, including:

  • an outdoor pool and patio deck
  • a luxury spa with 4 treatment rooms for body treatments, massages, and facials
  • fireplace reservations including s’mores kit
  • private country club golf course access

The final chance to apply for this year’s Leadership Intensive is just around the corner! We look forward to reviewing your application soon.
